right now, ci checks that host and packages can build. would be good to also check for code cleanliness, unused variables, ...

things to add

https://github.com/oppiliappan/statix for linting
https://github.com/astro/deadnix for dead code
nix flake check probably, even though the full builds guarantees this i think?
nixfmt --check on tracked files

need to refactor the current ci structure to allow adding such modules
